Stir in the Sport option package, and the solid but stolid C230 becomes a sports sedan with acceleration performance just a tick slower than the V6-powered C280. Since I bought this care used I’m not sure when its last transmission filter change was. Last year, Mercedes took the supercharged engine from its SLK230 sports car, dropped it into the C230 and renamed the sedan the C230 Kompressor. Could this be causing the problem? When I am able to shift gears the shifting is smooth and does not feel sticky at all.Ģ. It’s been there for about two weeks and I haven’t noticed any problems up to this point. ![]() It appears as if someone has spill soda, although it does not appear to be very much, in the gear shifter. It seems to happen the majority of the time but not every time. I guess I’m looking for some input on what the problem could be. (I did not try and force the shifter because I’m not a complete moron and know when to stop before causing more serious damage.) After troubleshooting the problem for a few minutes I discovered that if I go from D to N and wait for around 5 seconds then it will move past to R, then P. However this morning when I went to put the car in park from drive the shifter would not go past neutral no matter what I tired. I recently purchased it in July of this year and haven’t had any problems with it yet. But now back up in the high 80s, and when I called for air this is what I got.I have a 2000 C230 Kompressor with around 110,000 miles on it. This was working just a couple of weeks ago, the temp got cold for a few days so had to run the heat and defrost. Or if anyone has any suggestions I am willing to listen. If someone could point me to where that is located I can start tracing down this problem. I'm pretty sure the climate control doors and the air recirculation door are control by a servo and vacuum, but I do not know where that is located at. It did not cool off any until I clicked it into air conditioning mode. After taking it out of defrost mode and moving the dial back up to cold, but not clicking into air conditioning mode the air temperature stayed hot. The temp did not change till I clicked it into defrost mode and the air immediately became hot. I moved the manual dials down to heat (did not move to click into defrost mode), and the air temperature stayed the same. ![]() So when I noticed that was not working I tried something else. Light come on, but usually you can tell when you are recirculating cabin air by the noise. So I hit the RESET button (climate control with manual wheels on each side) to recirculate to cabin air, and the system did nothing. Turned on the AC today and it didn't get too cold. Not sure what happened but this just started.
